Annual General Meeting 2012

The Annual General Meeting was held at the Club on Friday 11 May 2012 and a total of 127 members (as at 7.30pm) turned up. During the general meeting, members present adopted the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting as well as received the President’s, Captain’s and Honorary Treasurer’s reports. The meeting also approved the Audited Financial Statements, the report of the auditors for the Financial Year 2011 and the Club Budget for the Financial Year 2012. Baker Tilly TFW LLP was appointed as auditors for Year 2012.

The meeting proceeded with the discussion on the two issues proposed by the Management Committee, namely revision of subscription fee and Social to Golfing Transferable membership conversion. The proposed constitution amendments on subscription fee was voted and defeated; the proposed conversion exercise was voted and carried.

Two members, who have given seven clear days written notice to the Honorary Secretary, presented their proposals. One member proposed to levy 20% green fee on spouse and children when they play golf. The other proposed to waive transfer fee when Social members transfer their membership to their spouse, child or sibling for the first time and transfer fee to be 10% of prevailing fee for subsequent transfer to spouse, child or sibling. The members present at the meeting voted against both resolutions.

The AGM ended at about 10.30 pm.
