Club Rules

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 These Rules (hereafter called the "Club Rules") are formulated by the Committee in pursuant to Article 13.1.1 of the Club's Constitution. The Club Rules shall apply to all members, including corporate nominees, their spouses and children, and all guests and visitors using the Club's facilities.

1.2 The Committee in accordance with the Club Constitution will deal with any contravention of the Rules by members or their guests.

1.3 The Rules may be revoked, amended or added by the Committee at any time as may be deemed necessary. Members will be notified of any alterations to the Rules through available Club communication channels such as the Club magazine, website and notices. An updated copy shall be kept available at the Main Reception for any member to refer to at all times. A copy of these Rules is to be given to every new member. Ignorance of any Rule will not be accepted by the Committee as an excuse for contravention by a member or guest.

1.4 The Committee may suspend the operation of any Rules or Bye-laws upon such special occasions and upon such terms and conditions as they consider, either by notification on the Club’s notice board, circular letter or other means deemed suitable.

2.0 GENERAL RULES

2.1 Members shall at all times conduct themselves in an exemplary manner. It is also the responsibility of members to ensure that their guests adhere to the Club Rules and that their behaviour and conduct are above reproach at all times.

2.2 Members shall be responsible for the behaviour and conduct of their guests.

2.3 Members, spouses, children, guests and visitors shall be properly attired in accordance with the dress code as prescribed in Schedule A hereto.  Torn, patched, scanty or provocative attire is not acceptable. An appropriate standard of footwear is also required: flip-flops, clogs and bare feet are not acceptable.

2.4 Club officials may ask any person who is not appropriately attired to leave the Club’s facilities and/or the Club’s premises.

2.5 The operating hours of the Club and its facilities, including the F & B outlets, are as prescribed in Schedule B hereto. The Committee may however, change the operating hours at its discretion upon prior notice to members.

2.6 All forms of gambling are prohibited in the Club except those under the licensing division of Singapore.

2.7 If a member has a feedback/complaint to make, he should register it in writing or e-mail to the Honorary Secretary or General Manager.

2.8 A member should refrain from physically or verbally abusing any other members or employees of the Club. Use of vulgarities is strictly prohibited in the Club.

2.9 Members shall produce their membership cards and particulars of their guests whenever requested to do so by Club officials or security personnel in the course of their duty. In the event a member fails to produce the membership card when requested to do so, the member shall produce the NRIC or driver’s licence or other proof of identity if requested to do so for verification by the Club and the Club may levy an administrative fee on the member.

2.10 The Club Management may prohibit the use of items that it deems objectionable or likely to cause a nuisance or  danger to members’ or Club’s property.

2.11 Outside food and drinks, with the exception of birthday/celebration cakes and infant food, are not allowed to be brought into the Club unless prior permission has been obtained from the Club Management.

2.12 Wines and spirits may be consumed with the stipulated corkage charge. Consumption of duty free liquor is strictly prohibited.

2.13 Members wishing to use any part of the Club’s premises for private functions may liaise with the Club’s F&B Department or General Manager at least two weeks prior to the date of holding such a function.

2.14 Members making applications for private functions shall be responsible to pay to the Club the costs and expenses incurred as charged by the Club.

2.15 The Club shall not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any article brought into the Club by a member or his/her guest(s) (Club Constitution Article 22.1).

2.16 The Club shall not be responsible for the death of or injury to any member, his/her guest(s) or any other person while they are in the Club (Club Constitution Article 22.1).

2.17 Members shall be liable for any damage to the Club’s property caused by themselves or their guests and may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Club Constitution.  The House Sub-Committee, whose decision shall be final, shall determine the amount of such costs.

2.18 No furniture or any other Club’s property shall be removed from the Club without the approval of the Committee (Club Constitution Article 18.4).

2.19 Littering is strictly prohibited

2.20 Members and guests under 18 years old are not allowed to enter the following areas:

(a) Fruit Machine / Jackpot Room
(b) Mahjong / Card Rooms
(c)  Air-conditioned Bar Lounge (Water Hazard), except during afternoon family Karaoke hours

2.21 Members and guests under 18 years old are not allowed to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and tobacco products in the Club.

2.22 No animals or pets are allowed to be brought into the Club.

2.23 Members failing to register their guests are liable to a fine of up to 10 times the guest fee for the respective games and these members may be referred to a Disciplinary Inquiry.

2.24 Each member may bring a maximum of three guests, except otherwise stated in the Rule Book. Members who wish to introduce more than the maximum stipulated number of guests at any one time shall notify the General Manager at least one working day in advance.

2.25 Members shall accompany their guests at all times.

2.26 Members and/or guests may be asked to leave the Club’s premises by any Club official if their behaviour or conduct causes annoyance to other members.

2.27 Domestic help in appropriate attire may be brought to the Club by a member for the purpose of minding young children, the elderly or any other person deemed by the Club to require such care, but shall be restricted to specific areas as determined by the Committee from time to time. They shall be charged guest fees if Club facilities are being used.

2.28 Smoking is strictly prohibited in air-conditioned facilities and in the following areas:

(a) Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis and Squash Courts
(b) All Changing Rooms and Toilets
(c) Swimming pool premises, including the pool deck and poolside cafeteria, shower rooms, toilets and other common areas within the facility
(d) Golfers’ Terrace, except the area designated as smoking area
(e) Any other areas designated by the Committee from time to time as specified by the government of the Republic of Singapore.

2.29 Members are subject to monthly subscription fee, Minimum Spending Levy (if any), and any other charges as and when incurred. Members are required to make payment for all dues by the stipulated due date as stated on the monthly statement of account.

2.30  If payment is not received by the payment due date, a late payment interest charge of 1.5% per month will be levied on all outstanding. An administration fee of $30 and $50 will be levied respectively for the 2nd and 3rd reminder on outstanding due. All costs incurred by the Club to recover outstanding debts will be charged to the member.

3.0 CLUB REPRESENTATION

3.1 It should be regarded as an honour for a member to be called upon to represent the Club and he/she should give his/her utmost.

3.2 Selection for Club representatives shall be at the discretion of the Club Captain in the case of golf and the Sports Convenor in the case of sports or games.

3.3 Selection criteria should be based (with equal emphasis) on:

(a) Competency in the sport or game
(b) Regularity of support for the Club

3.4 Club Representatives shall be sponsored by the Club in all respects relating to the applicable entrance fees. The extent and degree of sponsorship shall be decided by the Club Captain in the case of golf and Sports Convenor in the case of sports or games and be monitored by the Honorary Treasurer and the Finance Sub-Committee.

4.0 GOLFING BYE-LAWS (4.1 - 4.8)  

4.1 USE OF GOLF COURSE

(a) The rules of golf shall be those currently adopted by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the local rules of the Club.

(b) The golf course is restricted to male golfers with a USGA course handicap of 24 and below, for lady golfers with a USGA course handicap of 36 and below on weekends and public holidays. Proficiency Certificate (PC) Holders are allowed to play on weekdays and on weekends and Public Holidays only for evening 9-hole golf.

(c) Golfers below 12 years old with valid PCs or Handicaps are permitted to play under the supervision of an adult member with handicap of 24 or below for men and handicap of 36 or below for ladies.

(d) Non-golfers are not allowed on the golf course without prior approval from a Club Official. A Disclaimer Form must be obtained and returned to the Golf Reception before proceeding to the course.

(e) All golfers shall be suitably attired.  Please refer to the dress code as prescribed in Schedule A and respective Notice Board for acceptable attire on the golf course, practice chipping & putting green and Driving Range.

(f) Golfers below 16 years old are not permitted to drive the buggies.

(g) Golfers playing a social game are not permitted to play multiple balls during a game.

(h) Members are not allowed to bring their own caddies without prior approval from a Club Official.

(i) The Club officials reserve the right to place player(s) into flights that consists of less than four players.

 

4.2 REGISTRATION

(a) All golfing members and their guests shall sign in and obtain course tickets at the Golf Reception and proceed to register with the starters before they are allowed to tee off. If buggies are being used, the course tickets must be displayed at all times on the buggies.

(b) The last issue of course ticket is at 6.00pm daily and golfers must tee off not later than 6.30pm.

(c) Junior Golfers registered under the Club’s Junior Golf Training Programme are permitted to tee off from 5.30pm onwards. They must be supervised by a Golf Professional and course tickets must be obtained from the Golf Reception before tee off.

 

4.3 ORDER OF PLAY

(a) Time sheets shall be in place to regulate play on both weekdays and weekends, including Public Holidays.

(b) All golfers shall strictly observe the timing regulated by the time sheet and commence play when it is their turn to tee off. Golfers who arrive late will be directed to take the next available tee off time. They may be denied the chance to play on the course by the starter.

(c) All golfers are required to hand their course tickets to the starter (register with the starter their names, membership numbers and handicaps) at the first or 10th tee according to the time sheet before commencing play.

(d) On weekends, players finishing their first nine holes shall wait for the last flight on the back nine holes to tee off before proceeding to their second nine holes. On weekdays, when the time sheet is not full, golfers from the first nine holes may be permitted to cross over without having to wait for the last flight on the back nine holes to tee off. This is permitted at the discretion of the starter on duty only when there are gaps in between the time sheet.

(e) Morning flights must complete the first nine holes and turn around by 11.45am, failing which continuation of the second nine holes shall be disallowed (inclusive of suspension of play due to inclement weather). Tee off times after 11.45am shall be reserved for flights in the afternoon session.

(f) During the Club’s Match Play Competition for Men and Ladies, the competition players have the right to overtake the social players.  The overtaking of the flights shall be regulated by the Club Marshals.

(g) There shall be no tee off after the last flight on the time sheet (for both morning and afternoon sessions) until the start of Control Hours at about 4.30pm. In the event that the golfers on the time sheet have completed their turn-around, nine-hole golfers may be permitted to tee off before 4.30pm at the discretion of the starter.

(h) During Control Hours, when the afternoon time sheet is full and play is delayed due to bad weather, members playing nine holes will only be permitted to commence after the turn-around of those playing 18 holes.

(i) Golfers shall start their games from the first or 10th tee and play their holes in sequence. Exceptions shall only be given to competitions requiring shotgun or rain-delayed starts

 

4.4 BOOKING SYSTEM

4.4.1 TIME SHEET BOOKING FOR WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

(a) A flight booking must comprise of a minimum of three players.

(b) In-person booking on Thursdays for the subsequent weekend and any Public Holiday within the booking period can only be done by the Principal member. The principal member is required to present his/her membership card before placing a flight booking.

(c) Only one membership number is allowed to be used to book one flight for the intended day of play. Note: Principal and Family members are regarded as belonging to one membership number.

(d) All golfers playing on a weekend / public holiday flight must use a buggy with the exception of; the last two flights of the first tee and last flight of the tenth tee of each session which may be used by walking golfers. Walking golfers shall be charged a fee of $10.

(e) Changes to and/or cancellations of weekend bookings must be made by 10.00am on Wednesday for either a Saturday or Sunday booking of the same week. Changes to and/or cancellations of bookings for Public Holidays must be made by 10.00am four days prior to the Public Holiday.

(f) In the event of a no show, the players in a booked flight will be charged a penalty fee of $40 each.  If the players’ names are not provided, the person who made the booking will be charged a penalty fee of $40 x the number of unnamed player/s in the flight.

(g) The booking procedure for weekends & public holidays is advised separately and published in the Club’s Golf Fixtures booklet which is mailed to all Golfing members annually and also available from the Reception.

4.4.2 TIME SHEET BOOKING FOR WEEKDAYS

(a) Members are advised to make reservations to avoid disappointment. Booking procedure for weekdays shall be advised separately and publicised in Golf Fixtures.

(b) The Golf Fixtures will be mailed to all Golfing members annually and are also available at the Golf  Reception.

(c) There will be no priority for one or two-ball bookings. However, two-ball flight bookings are permissible. One or two balls will be combined to form a flight whenever possible.

(d) Members may book in their guests when they book their flights. A member may book up to a maximum of two flights at one time.

(e) A maximum of two PC holders are allowed per flight except during control hours (i.e. 4.30pm to 5.30pm) when only one PC holder is allowed per flight.

(f) Substitution can be made between members and guests or vice-versa.

(g) A member who makes a booking is responsible for that booking. Any cancellation or change of players shall be done through the member.

(h) Changes and/or cancellation for Weekdays must be made by 10.00am two days prior to the actual   day of play.

(i) In the event of a no show, the players in the booked flight will be charged a penalty fee of $40 each.  If the players’ names are not provided, the person who made the booking will be charged a penalty fee of $40 x the number of unnamed slots in the flight.

4.5 CONTROL HOURS

(a) Control Hours on weekdays are from 4.30pm to 6.15pm or when the last flights on the time sheet have teed off for their second nine holes and on weekends from the time the last booked flights in the afternoon have teed off for their second nine holes.

(b) Only three- or four-ball flights are allowed to commence play during Control Hours according to a first-come-first-served basis.

(c) Two-ball flights may be allowed to commence play for nine-hole games at the discretion of the starter after 10 minutes of waiting, provided that there are no other flights teeing off and no other player is available to join them to form a three- or four-ball flight.

4.6 GUESTS

(a) Members are responsible to ensure that their guests possess and observe the Golf Etiquette and Club Rules. Members signing in guests are responsible and may be subject to disciplinary action for infringement of Club Rules by their guests.

(b) Each member is only allowed to sign in a maximum of three guests on weekends and Public Holidays, and a maximum of seven guests during weekdays.

(c) Members are to ensure that their guests have valid handicap certificates before inviting them to play at the Club. All guests are to produce their valid handicap certificates upon request.

(d) Members are to ensure that their guests are covered by valid golfers’ insurance.

4.7 PRACTICE ON THE COURSE

Practice on or around the vicinity of the course shall not be allowed.

4.8 HANDICAP CERTIFICATES

The Handicap Committee will ensure that the policies of the USGA handicapping system are fully implemented.

4.9 INSURANCE

(a) All players must be covered by an insurance policy. Members are encouraged to take up golfers' insurance arranged by the Club.

(b)  Insurance claim forms are obtainable at the Golf Reception in the event of a claim. The claimant is to duly complete and return it to the Golf Reception with his/her full name and enclose all necessary documentation, including official receipts.

(c) The claimant shall be notified in writing when settlement from the insurance company is received.

4.10 RECIPROCAL AND AFFILIATED CLUBS

(a) The Club has reciprocal and affiliation arrangements with several clubs. For the list of reciprocal and affiliated clubs, please refer to the Club magazine and website or check with the Golf Reception. Members may also approach the Golf Reception for details on the conditions of reciprocal or affiliation arrangements with each of the clubs.

(b) It is the responsibility of the members to check on the terms and conditions of the reciprocal agreements before making their visit.  Such terms and conditions may be changed from time to time by the reciprocal clubs. The terms and conditions of the reciprocal agreement are obtainable from the Golf Reception.

(c) Reciprocal or affiliated members shall produce reciprocal or affiliated cards from their respective clubs and their identification cards or passports as only non-residents of Singapore are allowed to enjoy the reciprocal or affiliated arrangements. Reciprocal or affiliated members from Singapore clubs are exempted from this clause.

(d) Members playing at any reciprocal or affiliated clubs shall at all times conduct themselves in an exemplary manner and observe the Club Rules and Golf Etiquette.

4.11
SOCIAL MEMBERS’ GOLFING PRIVILEGES

(a) Social members shall be allowed to golf as specified in the Club Constitution Article 9.11.1.

(b) For play on weekdays (except Public Holidays), Social members are permitted to make bookings two days in advance except for Thursday and Friday afternoons where bookings are made available for Golfing members only.

(c) Social members shall be required to follow all Club Rules governing the use of the golf course.

(d) Social members must register and make payments for applicable green fees at the Golf Reception prior to their games.

(e) Social members shall not be entitled to promotional green fees accorded to guests of golfing members.

(f) Each social member is allowed to introduce three guests on weekdays. No introduction of guest is allowed on weekends and Public Holidays.

(g) Only Handicap Certificates or Proficiency Certificates (PCs) issued by SGA affiliated clubs shall be recognised. They are to be produced together with the players’ membership cards during registration.

(h) Social Members shall be given walk-in opportunities to play on weekends and Public Holidays subject to availability of slots. They shall have no booking rights on weekends and Public Holidays.

5.0 DRIVING RANGE BYE-LAWS

5.1 OPERATING HOURS

Balls are issued from 7.00am to 10.00pm daily, except on Monday when it is only open from 2.00pm onwards. All play should cease by 11.00pm.  The operating hours may vary, as determined by the Committee from time to time.

5.2 NON-MEMBERS

Non-members may be charged a range guest fee per player, as determined by the Committee from time to time.

5.3
ATTIRE

All golfers shall be properly attired whilst at the Driving Range in accordance with the dress code as prescribed in Schedule A hereto.

5.4
CONDUCT OF PLAY

Club professionals and the range operator must ensure the proper play conduct of golfers using the Driving Range. Golfers are strictly forbidden to practise outside the designated area.

5.5 BALL CHARGES

Balls are issued at a cost as determined by the Committee from time to time.

5.6
STORED VALUE CARD

The stored value cards issued at the Driving Range are subject to the terms and conditions of the issuance and use of card. The stored value card is issued by and is the property of the Driving Range operator.  Use of the stored value card constitutes the acceptance by the card holder of the terms and conditions of the card issuance agreement with the Driving Range operator. The Club will not be held liable for any unused dollar amount credited to the stored value card in the event of its loss, closure of the Driving Range operator and/or other circumstance that may arise.

5.7 The Club shall not be held liable for any damage and/or loss of any article and/or property caused to and/or left in a vehicle that is parked on the Club’s premises. Money, valuables, personal effects and other properties placed in the vehicle shall be at the sole risk of the members, guests and/or general public.

6.0 SPORTS FACILITIES BYE-LAWS

6.1 The daily operating hours of the Club’s facilities, unless otherwise specified, shall be as prescribed in Schedule B hereto. The Committee shall determine these operating hours from time to time.

6.2 Fees for the use of the Club’s facilities, where necessary, shall be as prescribed in Schedule C hereto. The Committee shall determine these fees from time to time.

6.3 Any member and/or his/her guest(s) who infringe(s) any rule or refuse(s) to obey the direction of the respective Sub-Committee or Club official on duty whilst using any of the Club’s facilities may be requested to leave the facility/Club’s premises by any Club official and/or referred to a Disciplinary Inquiry.

6.4 No coaches other than those registered with the Club shall be allowed to provide training lessons in the Club.

6.5 The Sports Sub-Committee is authorised to reserve all sports facilities (except golf) for in-house tournaments, inter-club or friendly matches, exhibition matches and team training etcetera.

6.6 Members must sign in their guests and pay the appropriate guest fees before using the respective facilities.

6.7 Club Evenings/Team Trainings shall be held on such times and days as the Sports Sub-Committee may decide.

6.8 The Sports Sub-Committee may invite guest(s) and the Club’s coaches to join Club Evenings/Team Trainings to enhance the standard of play among Club members.

6.9 The Sports Sub-Committee may reschedule the Club Evenings/Team Training by putting up a notice two weeks in advance on the Club’s notice board.

6.10 Members shall be held liable for any damage to Sports facilities, equipment or other Club’s property caused by them or their guests.

7.0 BILLIARD BYE-LAWS

7.1 BOOKING PROCEDURE

(a) Bookings for tables in the Billiard Room can be made during its opening hours until an hour before closing time as prescribed in Schedule B hereto. Bookings for each week i.e. Monday to Sunday may be made in advance by telephone or in person on a first-come-first-served basis from 2.00pm the preceding Friday.

(b) Members making bookings for tables will have to enter their names and membership numbers in the booking sheet at the Billiard Room.

(c) Each session of play is one hour.

(d) Members may book a maximum of two sessions daily. Members, junior members 16 years old and above and Club representatives or league players are allowed to book.  The member who books the table must be present for play, failing which the booking shall be deemed to be cancelled.

(e) Upon expiry of the booked time slot, only hourly extensions are allowed if there is no further booking on the booking sheet.

(f) Members are allowed to book the tables to practise by themselves provided that no two other members wish to utilise the tables.

(g) Members must give advance notice of at least 24 hours before the booked time of play if they wish to cancel their bookings. Members failing to give the required notice will be liable to a no show fee as determined by the Committee from time to time.

(h) Members shall sign the table-booking chits and sign in any guest before the commencement of play.

(i) A 15-minute grace period shall be given to members to  take up their table bookings, after which the bookings shall be forfeited and the table given to the next waiting member who is ready to play. The member shall be charged a no show fee.

(j) Members and their guests are to keep their noise level to a minimum to avoid distracting others.

7.2 JUNIOR MEMBERS

Only junior members aged 12 years and above shall be allowed to use the Billiard tables. Those under 16 years old shall be accompanied by an adult member during play. Junior members who are Club representatives or league players shall be exempted from this rule.

7.3 DRINKS AND REFRESHMENTS

Drinks, refreshments and light snacks are only allowed at the designated area in the Billiard Room. Members shall not eat or drink while cueing.

7.4 PLAY ETIQUETTE

(a) Only the white ball shall be used as the cue ball.

(b) Cue chalks should not be placed on the edge of the Billiard/Pool tables.

(c) Members should refrain from prompting or distracting players at the table.

(d) No articles except those required for the game are to be placed on the Billiard/Pool table at any time.

(e) Members and their guests are to refrain from throwing the Billiard/Pool balls onto the table.

(f) Members are liable for any damages caused to the table and/or accessories as the Sports Sub-Committee may decide.

8.0  BADMINTON / SQUASH / TENNIS / TABLE TENNIS BYE-LAWS

8.1 BOOKING PROCEDURE

(a) Bookings for Badminton, Squash, Tennis and Table Tennis Courts can be made daily from 7.30am to 9.30pm. Bookings for each week i.e. Monday to Sunday may be made in advance by telephone or in person on a first-come-first served basis from 12 noon the preceding Friday.

(b) Members may book a maximum of two sessions daily. Members, junior members 16 years old and above and Club representatives or league players are allowed to book. The member who booked the table must be present for play, failing which the booking shall be deemed to have been cancelled.

(c) Each session of play is one hour.

(d) Members are allowed to book a maximum of two sessions per day and make a maximum of two bookings per week.

(e) Upon expiry of the booked time slot, only hourly extension is allowed if there is no further booking on the booking sheet.

(f) Members must give advance notice of at least 24 hours before their scheduled time of play if they wish to cancel their bookings, failing which they will be liable to a no show fee as determined by the Committee from time to time.

(g) For bookings of Tennis courts, in the event of bad weather, no booking charge will be imposed if members check with the Club 15 minutes in advance on whether the courts are in a condition fit for play. Members who fail to do so shall be deemed to have cancelled their bookings without notice and shall be liable to a no show fee as determined by the Committee from time to time.

(h) Members shall sign the booking chits and sign in their guest(s) at the Sports Reception before the commencement of play.

(i) A 15-minute grace period shall be given to members to take up their bookings, after which the bookings shall be forfeited and the court/table given to the next waiting member who is ready for play.  The member shall be charged a no show fee.

(j) All booking chits shall be displayed at designated areas during the duration of play.

(k) Members will not be charged if they are unable to play for more than 30 minutes due to unsuitable court/table conditions. The Duty Manager or any person nominated by the Club Management shall decide whether the courts are fit for play at that time.

(l) Members playing beyond the time of court/table booking shall be charged the court/table fee for the next hour.

8.2 JUNIOR MEMBERS

(a) Junior members under 12 years old are not allowed to use the courts/table unless accompanied by an adult member. The adult member need not play but must be present to supervise the junior members.

(b) Junior members under 12 years old are not allowed to participate in Club evenings unless prior approval has been obtained from the Sports Sub-Committee.

8.3 PLAY ETIQUETTE

(a) Food and beverage are not allowed inside the Badminton/Squash/Tennis courts and Table Tennis room.

(b) Only non-marking balls, approved by the Singapore Squash Rackets Association, are to be used in the Squash Courts.

(c) Only non-marking rubber-soled shoes appropriate for the respective games shall be worn by players. Any other forms of footwear are strictly forbidden within the court and playing areas.

8.4 GENERAL

(a) For Table Tennis, members may sign in/out for bats and balls from the Sports Reception, subject to availability.

(b) Members shall be responsible for the equipment that must be returned to the Sports Reception after play. In the case of loss or damage, the member who last signed for the equipment shall be liable for the cost of replacement.

(c) Members shall not shift the Table Tennis table nor adjust the net.

9.0 GYMNASIUM BYE-LAWS

9.1 BOOKING PROCEDURE

Members shall sign in and out of the Registration Book in the Gymnasium before and after using the Gymnasium.

9.2 JUNIOR MEMBERS

Junior members below the age of 12 shall not be allowed to use the Gymnasium. Those under 16 years old shall obtain their parent’s consent and be accompanied by the parent/guardian or Fitness instructor when in the Gymnasium.

9.3 PROHIBITION

(a) No equipment shall be removed from the Gymnasium.

(b) Food & beverage other than the drinking water provided in the Gymnasium is not allowed

9.4 GENERAL

(a) Members shall familiarise themselves with the operation of the equipment and consult the Fitness instructor when in doubt.

(b) Members are requested to wipe clean the equipment they use and return them to their respective   places after use.

(c) The Fitness instructor or Club official is authorised to stop anyone from continuing his/her training if he/she is judged unfit.

(d) Members are advised to seek medical advice or assessment before starting on an exercise programme.

(e) Members are required to show consideration for others and are not permitted to reserve equipment except on an organised fitness programme conducted by a Fitness instructor.

(f) Members are requested to limit their cardio workouts to 20 minutes during peak hours (Weekdays, from 5.00pm to 9.00pm; Weekends and Public Holidays, from 1.00pm to 9.00pm) and 30 minutes during non-peak hours.

(g) Members are urged to report any damage of equipment to the Fitness instructor or the Club Official immediately.

(h) The Club reserves the right to close the Gymnasium or any machine/facility within the Gymnasium, without prior notice, if such action is deemed necessary

10.0 SWIMMING BYE-LAWS

10.1 GUESTS

Guests may use the Swimming Pool and other related facilities.

10.2 JUNIOR MEMBERS

(a) Junior members under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. A member shall be fully responsible for the conduct and behaviour of the child(ren) in his/her charge and shall be liable to the Club in respect of any damage or injury caused by the child(ren).

(b) Children aged six years and above shall use the Changing Room appropriate to their gender. Changing in the open is not allowed.

(c) Junior members under 12 years old are not allowed in the sauna/steam bath rooms and those aged 12 years and above shall be allowed only when accompanied by an adult

10.3 PROHIBITIONS

(a) Swimmers must shower before entering the pool.

(b) Swimmers suffering from any infectious or contagious disease shall not use the Swimming Pool.

(c) Changing shall be done in the Changing Rooms and not on the pool deck.

(d) Swimmers are to leave the pool during thunderstorms or when requested to do so by any Club official.

(e) The use of audio and/or visual appliances likely to cause annoyance to other members is prohibited.

(f) Members are not allowed to throw balls or play games in the pool or around the poolside area to the annoyance of other members.

(g) No bottles, glasses, crockery, cutlery and any other objects which the Club may deem objectionable are allowed in the pool.

(h) No running about is allowed on the pool deck.

(i) No diving equipment or flippers are allowed in the pool except under the supervision of appointed coaches.

(j) No diving is allowed except in the deep end of the Swimming Pool.

(k) Food and drinks are not allowed in the pool or on the pool deck, except in designated areas.

(l) No unauthorised person shall enter the filtration plant area of the Swimming Pool.

(m) No person shall remove or interfere with any life-saving apparatus or equipment

10.4 GENERAL

The following articles are permitted in the Swimming Pool:

(a) Inflated rings
(b) Inflated arm bands
(c) Kicking boards
(d) Swimming goggles with plastic lens
(e) Training aids for use under the supervision of a swimming coach as authorised by the  Club

11.0 BOWLING BYE-LAWS

11.1 BOOKING PROCEDURE

(a) Bookings for bowling lanes can be made from 7.30am to 9.30pm. Bookings for each week i.e. Monday to Sunday may be made in advance by telephone or in person on a first-come-first-served basis from 12 noon the preceding Friday.

(b) Members making bookings for lanes shall have to enter their names and membership numbers in the booking sheet at the Bowling Alley’s Reception Counter. Junior members under 16 years old are not allowed to book.

(c) Each member is entitled to four games per day. Further games shall only be permitted if lanes are available.

(d) Members shall give advance notice of at least 24 hours before their scheduled time of play if they wish to cancel their bookings, failing which they will be liable to a no show fee as determined by the Committee from time to time.

(e) Members shall sign the lane-booking chits and sign in any guest at the Bowling Alley’s Reception Counter before the commencement of play.

(f) A 15-minute grace period shall be given to members to take up their lane bookings, after which the bookings shall be forfeited and the lanes shall be open for booking or given to those on the waiting list.  The member shall be charged a no show fee.

(g) Full fees shall be paid for uncompleted games. Practice balls are not permitted and any breach of this rule shall incur a fine as determined by the Committee from time to time. Repeat offenders may be referred to a Disciplinary Inquiry.

11.2 BLOCK BOOKING PROCEDURE

(a) Members shall, subject to the approval of the Committee, be permitted to make advance reservations for private social/competitive bowling at a flat fee as determined by the Committee from time to time. The block-booking fees are payable in addition to the normal bowling fees.

(b) Block-booking can only be made with a minimum of two lanes at any one time.

(c) Junior members are not permitted to block-book.

(d) The Committee reserves the right to approve each application subject to availability.

(e) Members making block-bookings shall be charged the full block-booking fee unless notice of cancellation is given at least 24 hours prior to the booked time.

(f) If the lanes that are block-booked are not taken up within half an hour of the booked time, the stipulated block-booking fee shall be charged. The lanes shall also be released from the booking immediately.

11.3 JUNIOR MEMBERS

(a) Junior members under five years old shall not be allowed to bowl. Those between five and 12 years old shall not bowl unless supervised by an adult member.

(b) Junior members under 12 years old shall not be allowed to participate in Club evenings unless prior approval has been obtained from the Club.

11.4 PLAY ETIQUETTE

(a) Bowlers shall not use another bowler’s ball without his/her permission.

(b) When two bowlers are ready to stand on the approach, the bowler on the left shall give way to the bowler on the right.

(c) Bowlers shall give way to any bowler on an adjacent lane who is ready to bowl.

(d) No one is allowed to stand on the approach when someone is bowling.

(e) Bowlers shall not stand at the foul line for too long after bowling.

(f) Bowlers shall not cross the foul line deliberately.

(g) Food and beverage is not allowed beyond the bowlers’ console.

(h) Members shall be responsible for the equipment, which must be returned to their respective places after use. No equipment shall be removed from the Bowling Alley.

11.5 PROHIBITIONS

(a) No one is allowed to lean against the bowlers’ console or place any drinks or powder or other articles thereon.

(b) Bowlers shall not bowl until the pins have been reset.

(c) No lofting of ball is allowed.

(d) Bowling shoes are not to be worn beyond the Bowling Alley.

(e) Golf or other sports equipment and wet items are not permitted in the Bowling Alley.

(f) No running about is allowed in the Bowling Alley.

(g) No unauthorised person is allowed to enter the bowling machine room

12.0 MAHJONG / CARD ROOMS BYE-LAWS

12.1 BOOKING PROCEDURE

(a) Bookings for tables in the Mahjong / Card Rooms can be made in person from 2.00pm to 10.00pm at the Billiard Room on a first-come-first-served basis.

(b) The member who booked the table is required to provide the names and membership numbers of all his/her playing partners.

(c) Each member shall only book one table at any one time.

(d) Advanced booking made in person for the same day is allowed.

(e) A 15-minute grace period shall be given to members to take up their table bookings, after which the bookings shall be forfeited and the tables shall be open for booking or given to those on the waiting list.  The member shall be charged a no show fee.

(f) The member booking the table must be present for play, failing which the booking shall be deemed to have been cancelled and the member shall be charged a no show fee.

(g) Mahjong sets and playing cards are obtainable from the Billiard Room counter. Members are to return the sets to the same counter at the end of their games. Members shall ensure that the sets returned are complete and in good condition. Members shall be liable for the replacement costs of any missing or damaged tile or chip as determined by the Committee.

12.2 GUESTS

No guest is allowed to use the Mahjong / Card Rooms. 

12.3 PROHIBITIONS

(a) No cash transaction is allowed in the Mahjong / Card Rooms.

(b) Smoking is prohibited.

13.0 FRUIT MACHINE / JACKPOT ROOM BYE-LAWS

13.1 ADMISSION

Members and their guest(s) must sign in the Registration book before commencing play.

13.2 CLAIM

(a) In the event of short or non payment, the player must inform the Jackpot Attendant immediately. Claims for short or non-payment must be recorded and witnessed by authorised personnel before they are honoured. The player is entitled to only what is shown on the machine.

(b) When there is a claim for Extra Jackpot Payout (EJP) to be made by a member or his/her signed-in guest, the member has to produce his/her membership card for verification. Upon receipt of payment, the member shall sign the EJP chit.

13.3 PAYMENTS

(a) The maximum payout by any machine at any time shall be 200 credits. The claim for balance Extra Jackpot Payout (EJP) must be made at the Cashier.

(b) The maximum payment by Cashier per winning shall be S$3000, subject to availability of cashier’s float. The balance payment shall be made to the winner via cheque five working days from the day of winning.

(c) Any excess or freak payment shall belong to the Club. The player is entitled to only what is shown on the machine.

(d) If a machine with a winning combination is tilted, it shall be considered null and void. All payments are to be considered void if any malfunctioning of machines occurs.

(e) The Jackpot Attendant reserves the right to shut down any faulty machine. No claim shall be entertained if such machine is played.

13.4 RESERVATION OF JACKPOT MACHINES

(a) The reservation of any machine is not allowed.

(b) The Jackpot Attendant or authorised Club official reserves the right to remove belongings and coins of any player who leaves the machine for more than 10 minutes.

(c) Each player is allowed to play only one machine at a time.

13.5 GENERAL

(a) The Jackpot Attendant or authorised Club official shall switch off all machines at the exact closing time regardless of whether any player is still playing the machine.

(b) The General Manager reserves the right to shut down any machine without giving any reason.

(c) The Jackpot Attendant or authorised Club official may ask any person who behaves in an unruly manner to leave the room

14.0 VIDEO GAMES ROOM BYE-LAWS

14.1 OPERATING HOURS

14.2 ADMISSION

Children below six years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

14.3       PROHIBITIONS

(a) No food and drinks are to be brought into the Video Games Room.

(b) No running about is allowed in the Video Games Room.

(c) No rough handling of any machine is allowed such as shaking it vigorously, hitting it with palms/fists, kicking it with legs and striking the front view glass with coins or any other article or object. Such conduct amounts to vandalism and members and/or their guests who are guilty of such acts shall be disciplined by the Club in accordance with the Club Constitution.

(d) Members and/or their guests in swimming attire or school uniforms shall not be allowed into the Video Games Room.

14.4 GENERAL

(a) The malfunctioning of any machine is to be reported to the Sports Reception or Club official.

(b) Club officials or security personnel shall have the authority to switch off all games machines at the closing time regardless of whether any player is still playing the machine.

15.0 CHILDREN’S INDOOR PLAYROOM BYE-LAWS

15.1 OPERATING HOURS

15.2 PROHIBITIONS

(a) No food and drinks are allowed in the Children’s Indoor Playroom.

(b) No toys or other playing objects and wet items are allowed in the Children’s Indoor Playroom.

(c) Children must be supervised by adults at all times whilst using the Children’s Indoor Playroom.

15.3 GENERAL

(a) Any damages or loose parts shall be reported to the Sports Reception or Club official immediately.

(b) Club officials or security personnel shall have the authority to switch off the lights at the closing time regardless of whether any member or guest is inside the Indoor Playroom.

(c) Adults and children diagnosed with any contagious diseases or sicknesses are refrained from entering the Children’s Indoor Playroom.

16.0 CHILDREN’S OUTDOOR PLAYGROUND BYE-LAWS

16.1 PROHIBITIONS

(a) No food and drinks are allowed in the Children’s Outdoor Playground.

(b) No toys and other playing objects are allowed in the Children’s Outdoor Playground.

(c) Members and/or their guests are to leave the Children’s Outdoor Playground during thunderstorms or when requested to do so by any Club officials.

(d) The use of audio and/or visual appliances that are likely to cause annoyance to other members is prohibited.

(e) Members are not allowed to throw balls or play games or run about in the play area to the annoyance of other members.

(f) Children shall be supervised by adults at all times whilst using the Children’s Outdoor Playground.

17.0 MEN’S AND LADIES’ CHANGING ROOMS BYE-LAWS

17.1 All lockers in the Changing Rooms are for day use only. Members must sign for the keys in the Key Register at the respective Registration Counter.

17.2 Members shall return the towels/keys issued to them before closing time each day.

17.3 Any member or his/her guest who does not return the towel/key by closing time or who loses the towel/key issued to him/her shall pay for replacing a new towel/set of lock and key at a cost as determined by the House Sub-Committee.

17.4 The Club shall not be liable for the loss of any article or property stored in a locker. Money, valuables, personal effects and other properties placed in the lockers shall be at the sole risk of members and their guests.

17.5 No food or drinks (other than the drinking water provided in the Changing Rooms) shall be served or consumed in the Changing Rooms.

17.6 Personal effects should not be left overnight in the Changing Rooms.

17.7 Members shall not bring their golf bags or golf clubs into the Changing Rooms.

17.8 Members shall not leave their personal belongings with the Changing Rooms’ Attendants.

17.9 No Club towels or toiletries may be taken out of the Changing Rooms

18.0 RENTAL OF LOCKERS BYE-LAWS

18.1 The House Sub-Committee shall determine the charges for the rental of the various lockers from time to time without prior notice.

18.2 Rental of lockers is subject to availability and is on a first-come-first-served basis or by balloting as shall be determined by the House Sub-Committee from time to time.

18.3 Members shall be billed the rental fee for the lockers in advance on a quarterly basis.

18.4 The Club shall not be liable for the loss of any article or property stored in a locker. Money, valuables, personal effects and other properties placed in the lockers shall be at the sole risk of the members.

18.5 Members shall be billed a penalty charge as determined by the House Sub-Committee for replacement of a lost key or damaged locker.

18.6 Members failing to return their keys at the expiry of the rental period shall be billed a penalty charge as determined by the House Sub-Committee.

18.7 Members are to remove all their belongings in their lockers upon the expiry of the rental period, after which the Club shall have the right to remove and forfeit all the contents in the lockers without prior notice.

18.8 The Club shall not be responsible for the contents in the lockers.

18.9 No food or beverage is permitted to be stored in the lockers.

18.10 The Club reserves the right to conduct spot checks on the contents in the lockers in the presence of any House Sub-Committee member.

19.0 CAR PARK AND CAR PARK LABELS

19.1 All cars must be parked within the designated parking lots. Reserved lots are for Committee members only. Only cars with valid labels are allowed to park at the members’ lots.

19.2 No washing of cars is allowed on the Club’s premises.

19.3 Each principal member or nominee of a corporate member can apply up to two car park labels upon the submission of the relevant log card(s) of the vehicle(s). Car park label(s) shall only be issued to vehicle(s) belonging to members or any of their family members registered with the Club. The Committee shall determine the cost of the second car park label if any.

19.4 Each car park label remains a property of the Club. Members are responsible for the car park labels issued to them and these labels must be returned to the Club when members dispose of their cars or cease to be members of the Club.

19.5 Members shall be billed a penalty charge of $20 for the replacement of each car park label.

19.6 Members shall display the car park labels on the front windscreen of their cars and park their cars properly in designated lots or as directed by any Club official or security personnel.

19.7 Chauffeur-driven cars and cars without the Club’s car park labels shall be parked in designated areas as directed.

19.8 Disciplinary action may be taken against members parking in reserved lots or for parking irresponsibly or in such a manner as to be an obstruction to traffic or in any manner contrary to these Club Rules.

19.9 Club officials or security personnel shall have the authority to direct the parking and movement of all vehicles in the car park.

19.10 Car valet service may be provided on days and times and at rates determined by the House Sub-Committee from time to time. The Club shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to any vehicle or any part thereof, its accessories or contents.

19.11 The Committee reserves the right to accord the privilege to park in reserved lots to the Lady Captain, visiting dignitaries and other VIPs as accorded by House Sub-Committee and Club Management.

19.12 The Club reserves the right to clamp vehicles parked in unauthorised lots. The Committee, whose decision shall be final, shall determine the cost of unclamping.

19.13 No overnight parking in the Club is allowed unless prior written permission has been obtained from the House Sub-Committee or Club Management.

19.14 The Club shall not be responsible for any theft, vandalism or damage to any vehicle parked in the Club. All vehicles are parked at the owners’ own risks (Club Constitution Article 22.2).

20.0 PROCEDURE FOR ACCEPTING NEW TRANSFERABLE MEMBERS

20.1 All applications must be made on prescribed forms duly completed and submitted to the Membership Department with the required documents and a cheque bearing the transfer fee or transfer price.

20.2 The application shall be considered void if the cheque is subsequently dishonoured.

20.3 The application must contain both the transferor’s and transferee’s names, be duly signed with clear indication that the transferor will release all membership privileges from the date stipulated on the Letter of Cessation and settle all debts with the Club.

20.4 The applications shall be posted on the Club’s notice board for 14 days. Any member who wishes to object may inform the Membership & Constitution Sub-Committee in writing, stating the reasons.

20.5 The Membership & Constitution Sub-Committee shall vet applications and make recommendations to the Management Committee.

20.6 The Management Committee shall make a decision based on the advice of the Membership & Constitution Sub-Committee.

20.7 The Management Committee’s consideration shall be done on a monthly basis. The transferor shall be liable for the full rate of the subscription fees and other dues for the month in which the Committee’s approval is obtained.

20.8 Upon approval, the transferor will be duly informed. The Club will prepare final payment to the transferor after deducting the transfer fees and outstanding balances due to the Club. If any payment is due, the cheque will be issued within a month from the date of cessation of the membership. Upon receiving the Letter of Cessation, the transferor must return his/her membership card(s), car decal(s) and locker key(s), if any, to the Club.

20.9 The transferor shall be billed a penalty charge of $10 per membership card, $20 per car park label and $20 per locker key if he/she fails to return the mentioned items upon cessation of his/her membership.

20.10 Unsuccessful application shall be notified without need for reason to be stated and the transfer fee shall be returned.

21.0 JOINING FEE

The Club’s joining fees shall be as follow:

(a) Ordinary (Men)                                                   $15,000.00

(b) Golfing Transferable                                           $50,000.00

(c) Lady Transferable                                               $15,000.00

(d) Lady                                                                   $  6,000.00

(e) Social Transferable                                             $12,000.00

The joining fees of other categories of membership (and transfer fees) are percentages of the above (see Club Constitution).

22.0 ABSENT MEMBERS AND SUSPENDED MEMBERS

22.1 ABSENT MEMBERS

(a) These rules supplement Club Constitution Article 9.15.

(b) All applications for absent membership shall be subject to approval by the Management Committee.

(c) Absent membership shall be for a block period of six months at any one time.

(d) All applications for absent membership shall be made on the prescribed forms and submitted to the Club’s Membership Office together with the documentary proof of the application.

(e) An absent member only needs to pay half the rate of the monthly subscription fee, to be effective from the calendar month following the approval of his/her absent membership until the calendar month immediately preceding the expiry of his/her absent membership.

(f) A member will only be placed on absent membership status provided that he/she has paid the absent fee and settle any outstanding dues.

(g) During the period of absent membership, the member’s privileges with the Club shall be suspended, and his/her spouse and child(ren) shall not be entitled to use the facilities of the Club.

(h) At the expiry of the period for which a member is on the list of absent members, or on his/her return to Singapore prior to the expiry of such period, whichever is earlier, his/her membership will be reinstated.

(i) Absent members who return to Singapore for vacation could re-instate his/her membership during his/her stay in Singapore. During such period, the member shall be liable for full subscription fee and any other charges.

(j) Members shall face disciplinary action for breach of the above rules.

22.2 SUSPENDED MEMBERS

(a) For the reasons stated in Article 20.1 of the Club Constitution, the Committee may suspend any member not complying with the formalities mentioned in the said article.

(b) During the suspension period, the member shall be subject to subscription fee, Minimum Spending Levy and any other fees and charges applicable.

(c) During the period of suspension, the member’s privileges with the Club will be suspended according to the scope of suspension, and his/her spouse and child(ren) shall not be entitled to use the facilities of the Club.

(d) Members whose rights and privileges are suspended due to the reason stated in Article 20.7 of the Club Constitution are not to be signed in as guests to utilise Club’s facilities.

23.0 MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE PRIVILEGES

23.1 Designated parking lots.

23.2 Advanced booking of golf slots and sports facilities before booking sheet is open to general members.

23.3 Two complimentary rounds of golf games and entitlement of two complimentary buggies per month; President and Captain shall have four complimentary rounds of golf games and entitlement to four complimentary buggies per month; these privileges can be accumulated over the term of office and will expire three months after the end of term of office.

23.4 Complimentary use of any four sports facilities per month.  For bowling, each complimentary use is limited to four games.  Complimentary guest fees for four facilities (except gymnasium) on the condition that the MC member is present at the time of use.  All other fees, e.g. table fee, shoe rental, etc will still be applicable, unless Management Committee member uses his/her personal complimentary privilege concurrently.  There is no accumulation of these privileges.

24.0 LIST OF SUB-COMMITTEES WITH TERMS OF REFERENCE

24.1 MEMBERSHIP & CONSTITUTION SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) Its responsibility is to regularly review the Constitution for upgrading and accordingly propose amendments when necessary.

(b) It is to vet all applications for membership, ensuring suitability of candidates and also to ensure the overall membership quality and structure are maintained along guidelines suitable for the status of the Club.

(c) It shall comprise the Vice-President as Chairman, President, Club Captain and Honorary Secretary. The Honorary Treasurer shall sit as ex-officio.

24.2
GOLF SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall advise on all golfing related activities and matters as well as on operational and administrative issues of Golf Department.

(b) It shall co-ordinate with the Singapore Golf Association on all golfing matters as well as to ensure that the golf rules are updated at all times in line with those laid down by R&A and USGA from time to time.

(c) It shall comprise the Club Captain as Chairman, Vice Captain, Lady Captain, Green Convenor and other co-opted members.  The President shall sit as ex-officio.

24.3 DRIVING RANGE & HANDICAPPING SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall conduct golf rules workshops and handicap tests. It shall recommend the issuance of qualified golfers’ handicap certificates to the Club Captain, Vice-Captain and Lady Captain.

(b) It shall advise on all activities relating to the Driving Range.

(c) It shall ensure that golfers’ handicaps are properly maintained in accordance with the USGA Handicap system.

(d) It shall comprise the Vice-Captain as Chairman, Lady Captain and up to three other Club members. The Club Captain shall sit as ex-officio.

24.4
ESTABLISHMENT SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall comprise the Honorary Secretary as Chairman, Club Captain, House Convenor and Social Convenor. The President, Vice-President and Honorary Treasurer shall sit as ex-officios.

(b) It shall supervise the terms and conditions of employment of all Club employees and recommend to the Committee the filling of vacancies and any changes to current job functions/job scope.

(c) It shall monitor and advise on remuneration and benefits which include approval on annual increment and variable bonus quantum for the employees.

(d) It shall evaluate staff learning & development plans and monitor their effectiveness.

(e) It shall review and advise on human resource policies and other human resource related matters.

24.5
GREEN SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It is to monitor and advise on the general standard of the course and recommend improvements where necessary.

(b) It shall comprise the Green Convenor as Chairman and up to three other Club members. The Club Captain shall sit as ex-officio.

24.6
FINANCE SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall advise on the Club’s financial policies, procedures and controls.

(b) It shall advise on the Club’s Annual Budget, Capital Expenditure, Investment and Development Expenditure.

(c) It shall advise on the preparation and review before submission of the Club’s accounts for auditing and other submissions in compliance with the relevant authorities.

(d) It shall have free access to all Club accounts and relevant information upon request, so as to effectively perform its duty.

(e) It shall comprise the Honorary Treasurer as Chairman and up to five other Club members. The Vice-President shall sit as ex-officio.

24.7
HOUSE SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall monitor and advise on all maintenance of the Club’s premises and property as well as the Club’s housekeeping and security issues.

(b) It shall undertake physical checks and inspections on all Club’s premises and property at least once quarterly and monitor all repair or replacement works by the Club to ensure that the works are done satisfactorily.

(c) It shall advise on the display of notices and signs in the Clubhouse and car park areas.

(d) It shall comprise the House Convenor as Chairman and up to five other Club members. The Honorary Treasurer shall sit as ex-officio.

24.8
SOCIAL SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It is to advise on the operation of the bar and restaurant/catering as well as other Club services apart from those under the House Sub-Committee and co-ordinate with the House Sub-Committee.

(b) It is to monitor the social activities to foster Club spirit and improve members’ welfare for the benefit of members and guests as well as advise on the contracts of the F&B Operations.

(c) It shall comprise the Social Convenor as Chairman and up to five other Club members including a representative from the Ladies Committee. The President shall sit as ex-officio.

24.9
SPORTS SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It is to monitor proper utilisation and maintenance of the sports facilities, and that safety requirements/procedures are at all times properly complied with by those participating in sports/games in the Club.

(b) Each Co-ordinator shall be responsible for organising, within his allotted budget, activities and competitive events in his particular sports or games. The Co-ordinator shall also be responsible for ensuring the good behaviour and proper conduct of members participating in the sports/games under his responsibility.

(c) The Sports Convenor shall oversee the responsibilities of the Co-ordinators and ensure that sufficient sports activities other than golf are created to foster Club spirit and promote the welfare of members.

(d) It shall comprise the Sports Convenor as Chairman and the Co-ordinators of all the various sports and games in the Club other than golf. The Vice-President shall sit as ex-officio.

24.10
EDITORIAL SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall advise on the production of the Club’s publications to ensure effective communication amongst members and between the Management Committee and Sub-Committees as well as the general membership.

(b) It shall have as free an editorial policy as possible to ensure the publication has a good image but shall be subject to the Management Committee’s approval to print controversial issues.

(c) It shall advise on the design layout and contents of the Club website to ensure it depicts a good image and that information is authentic and up to date.

(d) It shall comprise the Editor as Chairman and up to three other Club members. The President and Honorary Secretary shall sit as ex-officios.

24.11
LADIES SUB-COMMITTEE

(a) It shall be responsible for the detailed conduct and administration of golfing activities for ladies in the Club, within the approved financing budget and in accordance with the Club Rules.

(b) It shall organise and run competitions periodically for lady golfers, and rule on golfing disputes in these competitions according to the USGA/SLGA golf rules.

(c) The Lady Committee shall be subordinate to the Golf Sub-Committee.

(d) The Lady Corporate Nominees, Lady Golfing Transferable, Lady, Lady Transferable Members and wives of Ordinary (Men), Golfing Transferable and Corporate Members duly enrolled as Family Members of the Club shall elect a Ladies Committee annually.

(e) It shall comprise the Lady Captain, Lady Vice-Captain, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Handicap Secretary and two co-opted members. The Captain shall sit as ex-officio.

GENERAL

The President, Vice-President and Honorary Treasurer may at any time sit as ex-officios in any Committee

25.0 USE OF CLUB FACILITIES BY CLUB EMPLOYEES

25.1 The usage of the Club’s facilities is extended to its employees as per the guidelines stipulated in the Employee Handbook.

25.2 Employees are not allowed to enter the Billiard, Jackpot and Mahjong Rooms at all times.

25.3 Prior approval must be sought from the Management Committee for any changes of the guidelines on the use of the golf course.
